American Teen trailer.

Folks, I got to see this film two weeks ago at the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival in Durham. Because of an embargo, I am not allowed to give the film a full-on review until it comes out this summer, but I will say it's my favorite movie of the year so far.

Right after the screening, I got to interview the filmmaker Nanette Burstein, which was difficult because I was still high from the experience of having watched her movie.

Looks like David Lynch's daughter made another movie.

Jennifer Lynch (Boxing Helena), daughter of David, recently finished her newest film, Surveillance.

Here's the trailer:

I refuse to judge Jennifer based on the percieved merits of her father - or lack thereof. The trailer is creepy enough, but it also looks like it could be a huge pile of crap depending on the story.

However, I did like the use of the Violent Femmes song "Add It Up."

My Leatherheads article (Starring Clooney, Zellweger, and Krasinski)!

It's here!

LOS ANGELES — Winston-Salem and Greensboro are getting the star treatment.

Last spring, the cast of "Leatherheads" — including George Clooney, Renée Zellweger and John Krasinski — came to North Carolina and South Carolina to film the football comedy. The film, which was directed and produced by Clooney, also featured a cast of regional extras. It opens in theaters Friday.

After filming in North Carolina and South Carolina wrapped up last year, we contacted Universal Studios to request a telephone interview with Clooney. They had a better idea: Why don't you just hop a plane and interview Clooney, Zellweger and Krasinski — in person? The Los Angeles cab fare was ridiculous and the jet lag was intense, but the chance to meet the actors face to face and hear their opinions of the Triad and its residents made the journey worthwhile.

I feel like I just got home from L.A. All my memories of the city are like tiny embers - snap shots from a dream I almost forgot. Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy the story I wrote. Tune in to the show tomorrow. We'll be playing the tapes I made of Clooney and Zellweger, plus we'll be giving away some awesome Leatherheads loot.

I feel like I owe you guys an explanation....

Dear Readers,

I want to apologize to those of you who have made it a point to visit my website at least once a day. You're real people who needed your daily movie news fix, and I want to apologize for the weeks of neglect.

I've been a bad blogger, but I have a good excuse: I'm working on a project. What kind of project? I'm not at liberty to discuss that right now. But if things pan out, I think that in the long run, it will make reading this blog a more enjoyable experience. It will also change the nature and the mission of The Movie Show in general. I would normally post on this site in the mornings, but now my mornings are occupied by something else, and it appears that this situation won't change at least until the end of this month.

So again, sorry for my neglect. I think the best thing to do might be to post more stories in the evening. I normally reserve this time for playing with my dog and watching stupid internet videos, but with a little will power, perhaps I can let the internet videos go.

Sincerely,
Joe Scott

P.S. Make sure to grab a copy of the News and Record tomorrow.
